In the modern age, these four acronyms are being used everywhere and they really seem important, and they are. When I first started building websites, I had never heard of the term SEO let alone the other three, I knew that building a website was not enough. Once you had it, the next step was to find ways to promote the website. If no one visited my new site, then I had wasted a lot of time, money, and energy. I could not afford to waste my money and resources like this, so I decided to find out the importance of these four acronyms because these are the best four ways to promote your website.

What is SEO?
SEO’s full form is Search Engine Optimization. In simple words, SEO is the process of optimizing the Website to improve it’s visibility over Google’s or another search Engines. SEO is the organic or non-paid way to increase the traffic to your website.
Seo is divided into two parts On page and Off page SEO.
On page: On-Page SEO means optimization over your own Website. The structure of your website, your site speed and the content of your site are important on-page SEO factors.
Off-Page: Off-Page SEO means optimization over external websites which links to your Website. The more (relevant) sites link to your website, the higher your ranking in Google will be.
What is SEM?
SEM is an acronym for search engine marketing. SEM is the paid way to increase traffic to your website also called PPC (Page-Per-Click). PPC advertising involves paying to search engines for displaying your website on top of the search results and every time our ad is clicked, sending a visitor to our website, we have to pay the search engine a small fee. PPC is one of the most popular forms of advertisement. The advantage of paid search is you get instant results of the advertisement. One of the most popular pay per click programs is run by Google and is called AdWords.
What is SMO?
SMO refers to social media optimization. It is the process of increasing the awareness of a product, brand or event by leveraging social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google+ blogs, forums, and online communities. SMO is a key part of a larger SEO strategy, it’s important to keep in mind that they aren’t the same thing. SMO is about engaging with target audiences and making a favorable impression by offering and sharing interesting and relevant content for increasing the traffic on your website.
What is SMM?
SMM refers to both organic and paid digital marketing efforts on social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn or other social media networks. In other words, social media marketing is also called as internet marketing that involves the promotion of websites by increasing their visibility in the social media networks through all the activities that bring the free targeted traffic and paid targeted traffic from social media networks. Social media marketing is a long-term process.
